The McDonald Room is the main conference centre space area and boasts stunning views of the iconic Edinburgh skyline.
It holds up to 100 people in comfort and can be set out in a variety of different ways depending on your needs. It’s the perfect venue for a confrence, training session, presentation or a meeting.
The three breakout rooms – Annandale, Broughton and Dryden – are all accessed from the McDonald Room and the sound-proofed walls can be moved to join the rooms together making one large space.
- a giant screen with ceiling-mounted projector allowing HDMI and VGA connections;
- loop hearing system;
- a fitted PA system with handheld, lapel and desk microphones; and
- a portable stage area complete with ramp for wheelchair users.
Hanover Conference Centre includes a number of versatile breakout areas located off the main McDonald Room area, which are perfect for facilitating work groups, smaller sessions, interviews or to use as separate catering areas for larger events.
There are three breakout rooms – Annandale, Broughton and Dryden – each with a 20-person capacity. They are separated from the main McDonald Room by movable, sound-proofed partitioning. Two of the rooms can be combined to create a much larger area with a capacity of 50, and all can be hired on a room-by-room basis if required.
The hearing loop, PA system and wi-fi connectivity are available in all of the breakout rooms.
IT Training Suite
The Hopetoun IT Training Suite lets us take the technical strain so you can focus on ensuring your staff receive the training they need in a hassle-free, professional environment. The suite contains 12 networked workstations with a wide range of Microsoft Office software installed.
The workstations run from their own dedicated server, meaning any bespoke software can be installed if required, and a high-speed internet connection is provided. Trainers also benefit from the dedicated accessories, including a colour laser printer, ceiling-mounted projector and giant screen.
The Hopetoun IT Training Suite benefits from a great level of technical support from Hanover’s own friendly and knowledgeable ICT team, and its close proximity to the main conference centre make it perfect for blended learning events. Many of our customers book both the training suite and conference centre to allow simultaenous traditional and screen-based training to take place at the same time.
Other meeting spaces
Aside from the Hanover Conference Centre, we also offer other meeting rooms accommodating various numbers.
The rooms can be hired as part of a package when hiring the McDonald Rooms Conference Centre, or they can be booked on their own for smaller meetings or events.
One of our most popular meeting rooms is the Boardroom, featuring a large, formal table accommodating up to 24 people. It has its very own dedicated breakout area with soft furnishings and is ideal for more formal meetings. It also benefits from a giant wall screen, full loop system and fully integrated microphone and PA system. Furthermore, all of the services offered in the McDonald Rooms Conference Centre – including wifi access, presentation equipment hire and catering – are also available in the Boardroom and other meeting rooms.
The other meeting rooms feature various equipment options and can seat up to 15 people comfortably.
